What We Believe

APOSTOLIC DOCTRINAL STATEMENT

We believe in repentance of sins, water baptism in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and the receiving of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance, according to Acts 2:38 and Acts 2:4.  We believe this constitutes the New Birth as recorded in St. John 3:1-8 and must be followed by a life of sanctification and holiness by those who will be ready for the imminent and glorious appearing of Our God and Savior, Jesus Christ.

We sing with all our hearts “Make a joyful noise unto the Lord…and sing praise.”  Psalm 98:4

We all pray together “They lifted up their voice to God in one accord.”  Acts 4:24

We testify publicly “I will declare thy name unto my brethren; in the midst of the congregation will I praise thee” Psalm 22:22

We anoint with oil for divine healing “Is there any sick among you?  Let him call for the elders of the church and let him pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.” James 5:14

We baptize in the Name of Jesus Christ “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”  Acts 2:38; 8:16; 10:48; 19:5; this fulfills Matthew 28:19

We believe in receiving the Holy Spirit “For the promise is unto you, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.”  The evidence of this experience is speaking in heavenly or other tongues.  Acts 2:4: 10:46; 19:6
